The ADSC is a volunteer-run organization. Everything we do is done by people who donate their time, talent, and energy to accomplish our mission. Here are some ways for you to join us and help preserve and celebrate Art Deco!

Events are the simplest way to get involved and a great way to get to know people. Our annual Gatsby Summer Afternoon uses dozens of volunteers during the event hours to lift and load in, take tickets, clean up, and direct traffic. Shifts are 2+ hours in length so that you can enjoy more than half the event for free in exchange. This and the annual Art Deco Preservation Ball are very popular events, so don’t be discouraged if it takes a couple years to get on a crew.

If you prefer more genteel activities, old-fashioned mailing parties are great fun. Small groups get together to stuff and stamp invitations before events.

Are you outgoing with a desire to share information about Art Deco architecture and design? Or do you know where to buy and enjoy wearing vintage clothing? We could use your knowledge and enthusiasm at the information tables at vintage shows, history expos, and reception or merchandise tables at lectures and parties.

Behind the scenes all year long, we welcome new people with specific skills to join committees serving in various capacities:

  • Marketing and PR

  • Fundraising and sales

  • Events and lectures

  • Membership coordination

  • Technical support

  • Diversity, equity, and inclusion
