PEERS: Gotham Black & White Ball

  • Alameda Elks Lodge 2255 Santa Clara Avenue Alameda, CA, 94501 United States (map)

PEERS invites you to join Gotham City's most eligible bachelor at an elegant Black & White Charity Ball in aid of Arkham Asylum, the city's most innovative treatment center. Vintage or modern evening dress in black, white, or shades of grey is admired but not required and 1930's through '60s costume is welcome.

Inspired by an "alternate" animated DC universe... in which the characters dress in vintage styles, wear hats, drive stylish vintage cars, and even dance to vintage music, but have 21st century technology. Superheroes, villains, and civilians from every comic universe are welcome.

The band is the wonderful Sara & Swingtime, guest-starring The Joker, better known as the amazing Lee Presson of Lee Presson & the Nails - a deadly combination of talents. The band will play a combination of classic Swing and Blues and beautiful vintage ballroom dance music.

Pre-ball dance lesson at 7pm in vintage Fox Trot and survival Swing, followed by formal dancing and mayhem from 8pm to midnight.

No-host bar and complimentary light refreshments (potluck contributions to Alfred's kitchen are welcome). With a scenario like this, what could possibly go wrong? Surely, Mr. Bruce Wayne and Inspector Gordon have everything under control!

Tickets: $20 in advance (by May 27); at the door: $25
